FROM THE SUPERINTENDENT
Water is a vital resource anytime, but in a drought its value increases exponentially. What can be more welcoming than an oasis in a vast, barren desert? This is the value that Upland Christian Academy brings to families and to the community. The barrenness of our society will increase as people drift further and further away from God and the Christian worldview. Upland Christian Academy is an oasis amidst the spiritual desert of our culture, and God is using this ministry to refresh and sustain many lives. On a recent survey, we asked school families what our ministry means to them. Their responses show that we are meeting a critical need at a critical time. Here’s a sampling:
“UC Academy has become an extension of our family and I feel safe knowing that my child is being taught and cared for by people who has the same value as our family.”
“A partner in helping us raise our children to be strong academically and spiritually.”
“UCA means so much to our family. It’s a place where my children feel love and respected. They actually love to go to school because the teachers express God’s love to them and make learning fun at the same time. They feel as if it were their second home. We love UCA!!!”
This year, our school theme was “One Body, Many Callings.” While we all have unique gifts and talents, God has called us to be united as one body so that we may fulfill His purpose for our lives. Just as Philippians 3:14 states, “[we] press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has CALLED [US] heavenward in Christ Jesus.” It is our mission to equip our students to use their gifts, talents, and resources to fulfill their calling and make an impact for the Lord.
We are grateful to be in position to serve our Lord and our families with excellence. This annual report will bear witness to what an amazing year we enjoyed in 2015-2016. One parent gave us a terrific compliment when describing UC Academy as “a great school with a heart for Jesus!” To reflect God’s excellence through education is our ultimate goal. It’s a thrilling journey…and we are glad to share it with you.
