What I Love about UC Academy: God placed us on this beautiful campus and He is alive and active in the UC Academy community, which is something I get to witness every day!
Purpose of Program
The Student Support Program (SSP) designs and implements educational plans that enable greater success for Upland Christian Academy students with mild/moderate learning needs.
In-Class Support
For students with possible or documented mild/moderate learning disabilities. Based on individual needs, Ssudent support services may include:
- Support and advocacy for student and parents
- Benchmark assessments
- Progress monitoring
- Appropriate accommodations
- Student success team meetings
- Monthly progress reports
- Consultation w/licensed educational psychologist
Pull-Out Support
For students with possible or documented mild/moderate learning disabilities. Based on individual needs, student support services may include:
- Support and advocacy for student and parents
- Benchmark assessments
- Progress monitoring
- Appropriate accommodations
- Student success team meetings
- Monthly progress reports
- Consultation w/licensed educational psychologist
- Pull-out sessions to enhance learning/processing skills: Lindamood Bell, Read Naturally, etc.
Tutoring Support
For students needing one-on-one or small-group tutoring to achieve content mastery. Based on individual needs, student support services may include:
- Coordination for in-school or after-school tutoring sessions
- Background checks for tutors
- General supervision of tutors; quality control
