Zambia Project

Zmabia KidsUpland Christian Academy is starting a sister-school sponsorship of Good Samaritan School in Zambia, Africa. In addition to prayer and friendship, UC Academy will provide financial support that will enable over 400 of the most at-risk students in Zambia to receive Christian education, food, and basic care.

Good Samaritan is located in a rural town of Kazembe, Zambia. They serve students from preschool through 7th grade. The students are orphaned or suffer from physical disabilities. Directed by Pastor Joseph and Maggie Chikumbi, Good Samaritan is committed to sharing the love of Christ with all children and providing clean drinking water, one meal per day, and a basic education.

Their Need: A New Fence

Our goal for the 2011-12 school-year is to raise $6,500 to finish building a reliable fence around the school property. The fence will provide much needed security for students and school properties. It will also enable them to start self-sustaining projects like growing fruits and vegetables and raising farm animals. These projects will improve the students' diet, teach valuable skills, and potentially generate supplemental income for the school.

All this can be accomplished with $2 per student per month!
